These 8 questions will help you create a vision for your life
A vision is simply a plan for the future. It’s what keeps you on track in your journey and guides you through the rest of your life. In other words, it’s the future you want for yourself, your family, your business or your career.
According to research, less than 30% of people across the globe have a plan for their lives, a plan that they have committed to in writing to help guide them through their lives.
Why do you need a vision for your life?
Having a vision helps you look forward to something in life. You get excited about the future and you have motivation to get up every morning even when you don’t feel like it some days.
It’s very easy for a person who doesn’t have a vision to allow other people to direct their life. This is why it’s important to have a vision for your life so you can fill your mind with positive thoughts that reflect the future you really want. Then start putting it into action.
Does your life reflect the life you really want to live?
This is one of the questions to help you reflect on your life right now and determine if you’re moving in the direction of the life you really want to live. This is not referring to just material things but peace of mind, good health, financial security, healthy relationships and so forth.
Here’s a list of other relevant questions to ask yourself in order to determine if you’re on track to living a meaningful life according to your vision.
- What changes do you need to make in your life right now to live the life you want to live?
- What really matters to you?
- What makes you really happy?
- What are you passionate about?
- What are your talents?
- Are there any skills you need to develop?
- What habits or behaviors do you need to cultivate or get rid of to help you live the life you want to live?
- What would you like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years?
Take some time to answer these questions thoroughly. Once you have the answers, put a plan in place with a list of goals and timeframe in accordance with your vision.
Remember that your vision or plan must be accompanied with a strong desire to improve your life and achieve your goals. It’s not a wish or a mere dream. There steps you need to take to turn it into a reality.
